	Nude World Altitude Record	48889 Reads

	The EIB has confirmed a new world alititude record for extreme ironing from a team from South Africa who ironed (naked!) at the top of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.
	It's a nude (sorry, new) world record for extreme ironing for pressing clothing at 5,859m under the sky. We haven't got many details about the achievement, other than the team was led by Yster who ironed at the top of Kilimanjaro on 14 August 2003. The record was made "official" by the EIB by beating the existing record held by John Roberts and Ben Gibbons who ironed on Everest's Base Camp One. There have been a wave of other record attempts, but this is the first to beat the Everest effort with photographic evidence and, critically, included an iron, board and garment (the South African flag). Yster said: "I came, I saw, I pressed a neat crease. Yip, we managed to iron at 5 895m - a new world record. Just to make sure, I snatched the record I also ironed naked at this altitude, damn it was cold."

What an Awesome achievement! These South African's do seem to be on top of the World when it comes to Extreme Ironing and making sure they have all the ‘Bare necessities’ for smashing the Altitude record. Well done.

I was reading the metro news paper the other day when I read about two blokes who have the "extreme ironing" record for ironing up kilimanjaro, (naked no less). Well I was up kili about a month ago and we found an ironing board left neglected at 5700m. do you know who these people were? because i have some very funny photos of us with the board they left, and we had to carry it down the mountain!
